Unspoken chemistry 
always there between us
simmering under the surface our friendship – 
we’ve never crossed the line
we’re always one careful step away
But, tonight you’re sitting closer
indecision in your eyes
and when you look at me like this
I just want to feel your kiss

Is this the night?
Is this the night friends become lovers?
Spend the evening exploring each other
in your room, under the covers?

You’re the most important person in my life
we can’t afford to mess this up
but maybe we’re missing out on something
better than what we have now
So, when I look at you like this
do you want to give in and take the risk?

I think I’m ready for this night 
my body told me long ago 
and while my heart told me yes, 
my brain kept saying no

I can see it in your eyes
