I know I took you for granted,
there was no looking back when I left.
Time always changes how we see things
and I know I didn’t see you properly.
You gave it all and then some,
transforming me into your hero–
I was always counting the minutes
until I let you down.
I think about you sometimes
I’m curious–
who gets to hear you cheer for them now?
During my low times,
I wonder who you’re smiling at now.
I’m no longer the guy you ask for help,
those moments are in the past.
I no longer hear you tell me
how great you think I am.
Even though you brought out the best in me
I was never the man you thought I was–
I was always counting the minutes
until I let you down.
I think about you sometimes
I’m curious–
do you ever dream about me at night?
During my low times,
I wonder if you’re doing alright.
I’m certain you’re better off without me,
despite the way your hand fit into mine.
I admit I held part of me back;
Strangled by my brokenness
I never truly let you in.
Holding you an arms length away–
I was always counting the minutes
until I let you down.
I think about you sometimes,
During my low times.
My second male POV piece 😅… hope you enjoy.

Wow! This is so wonderful, Bree! You totally nailed this male POV piece! So it seems your powers of ESP are starting to pay off??? Really captured the broken up feelings and rememberings!

Unfounded anxieties, My Dear! This is really a perfect capture of lost love, memories and wonderings that paint a masterpiece of heartaches and reminiscing! You do know the one thing that would make this even “More Perfecter” LOL? Only problem is it can’t be done with your voice! Unless you can do impressions?? Ha! Think about it?

Thanks Charmer. It’s fun, but I do find it challenging… I want to remain true to the protagonists character (if that makes sense)

The male version is stunning. I have heard its not easy for guys to feel love unless they actually meet the one.
