I used you as my anodyne
To help me through a difficult time.

Entertaining thoughts with you
Are what I used to pull me through.

If my pain would overwhelm
I’d simply step into your realm.

In there I found a certain light
Which helped me in the darkest night.

Your amusing words and witty heart
Helped to make the darkness part.

I’m so sorry if I didn’t say
How much you helped me every day.

You dulled my pain as I worked it through
So from my heart to yours…
