The Wonder

Seek it out
the rays of light through the trees
the sound of a string quartet filling the air

Seek it out
the taste of summer berries on the tongue
the brushstrokes on a canvas

Grains of sand
a tiny galaxy of history in your hand

The stars –the night’s mirror–
mapping the interconnection of everything

Veins in a leaf
showing the lifeblood of water and life

A poem
A voice
A smile
A dream

The wonder of it all
The beauty beckoning in the shadows of every day
It’s in there
It lingers
(hidden)
waiting to be found

    1. I’m sorry (possibly embarrassed) to say, I don’t understand what you mean by ‘Blake reference’. Is there a poem or line from a poem that is similar? Please educate me 😅🙏 I’m a John Keats girl 💜💜💜

      1. Nothing to be embarrassed about. You should be proud that you created a similar image to the great William Blake (English, 1757-1827) Check out the first stanza of his Auguries of Innocence and you’ll see what I mean.

      2. Holy moly, what a poem! Thanks for educating me 🙏 I’ll just slink back to my little writing corner 🤣 I love poems like Auguries of Innocence, the depth in them cuts to the soul.
        “Every night and every morn
Some to misery are born.” and then the next few couplets 👌
