I close my eyes and shut out the earth,
Away from all its panic and worth.
I take a moment from its hurry,
And know I do not have to worry.
I look for my emotions, find where they are,
My heart it flies so high, so far.
My body relaxes, I open my mind,
I’m amazed at what I find.
I am totally at peace, I do not mourn,
Suddenly I hear a beep of a horn.
Then I hear more noise around me,
Once again, the world has found me.
I open my eyes and the world rushes in,
Bringing with it all its dreadful sin.
I find myself being pulled back into its hurry,
I know I must again start to worry.
June 1999 – This poem is unedited, although my fingers are itching 😉
Adore this older poem of yours Bree, especially the 3rd stanza
“I am totally at peace, I do not mourn,
Suddenly I hear a beep of a horn.
Then I hear more noise around me,
Once again, the world has found me.”

The world found you? Or you found it within?

An interesting question. I’d say within 🙂
