Wait, what?
At first I wasn’t quite sure
But I learnt to read you
To understand the hidden meanings
Behind your metaphors and mythical references.
At first they confused and baffled me
For I stood on unfamiliar ground.
I investigated your words
And what they could possibly mean.
I worried that I wouldn’t be able
To decipher any of it
And my limited understanding
Would leave me frustratingly dissatisfied.
I followed my heart
And remained true in discovering you.
I kept an open-eyed watch whenever you were around.
I looked again and again
And perhaps one more time
Each time awakening from my ignorance.
Seeing more and comprehending…
You.
You unveiled a different world to me
And although it took me a while to grasp it
Now every time I read you
I understand every word and breathe.
I wish I had more adjectives to describe how I feel
I wish I had image soaked sentences like yours.
I look around and wonder why the others don’t realise.
Don’t they know how wonderful you are?
Can’t they see what is right in front of their faces?
Perhaps I don’t want them to know.
I selfishly hope to keep you all to myself.
All completely to myself…
Wait, what?
And then I realise.
Maybe you wrote
The language of your heart
Just for me
Knowing I would be the only one
Who would have the determination to interpret it.
For as I delight in reading you
You also delight in being read by me.
This is adorable! I am more than happy to admit this is better than my version I was working on ππππ

Oh John π Now I desperately want to read yours! I love how we all express and interpret things differently. To me, yours may be the best thing I have ever read, you just never know right? Hopefully we’ll all read it soon… ππ

No…this is definitely better, trust me π
It’s nice to take a step back and enjoy my time as a fanboy over my favorite writers π€

Hmmmmm, shall I trust you π€π I understand the joy of purely reading. However, sometimes when I see everyone posting, I just want to join in the fun too and I get a rush of inspiration! So, please don’t stay away too long friend.

This is so beautiful. I have felt like this about people’s work before, so I can relate.
I’m simmering through quick drafts of a bunch of things I didn’t hit publish on, in the past couple of days, once again checked the feed just before pulling the trigger and somehow this was so uplifting.
What a lovely light you put out there. I actually balk at marring the feed after this one. πππππ Keep shining. βοΈβοΈπ»

Awww, you are so sweet. That is encouraging thank you. I became a bit existential about things the past while. You know, questioning my blogophorical existence and all that jazz. I do that every now and then. π Then the rager in me always come back again. ππππ€ ;)) What I think is crazy is the coincidences around here. The piece I was going to send out had metaphors in the title, and here you are talking about metaphors. We are all interconnected in ways I can’t possibly pretend to understand. :)) Hugs in blogland. π

I had a sad thought the other day that if some of my favourites on here disappeared one day (I think you’ve had this happen), how sad I would be. Then I remembered something I wrote called ‘Writer in your corner’ and I feel at peace. The journey we walk together is a beautiful thing ππππ

I remember that piece and yes, yes, I agree on all of that. I wonder if everyone here thinks you are writing specifically to them sometimes. ;)) I saw a while back that you’d updated your “About” page since you first came online. So disclaimer in place lol. And applied both ways. ;)) Nice. :)) Anyhow, this piece truly is a delight to read and I wish I could produce more like it since it’s so uplifting. But the great CPU has other plans for me it seems. So on I rage. ;))
