Simple Gestures

He offers me tenderness
in the simplest of ways

Within his words
“I am here”
I am seen–
important amongst life’s chaos

Within his enfolding arms
and a kiss on the forehead
I am safe– 
fear soothed by his strength

It’s in these simple gestures
my heart hears his the loudest
