There’s sadness in these words
guilt in the revelation
this man I thought a friend
loves me without reservation
He would empty his heart
so he could fill mine
and I know it would be easy
because our souls align
He loves me with no strings
but my heart’s attached to another
and if he keeps loving me
I doubt we will recover
When he looks at me
my emotions start aching
but I’ve made vows and promises
I’ve no intention breaking
So, I hold his heart gently
attempting to cause no pain
yet he only falls more deeply
while all I feel is shame
Inspired by an Italian drama. Gesh those Italians know how to write heartache 💜

I have not watched any Italian drama, but this is breaking a heart. Love the poem ST. Brings out a unique perspective.

This is a powerful piece about unrequited (or partially requited love). When someone loves you deeply and you can’t reciprocate though you would like to, it’s hard and does cause a lot of shame.
