place one foot after the other 
don’t be distracted by mirages or  
giant fears made of empty shadows

Keep your shoes laced tight, dear wanderer 
don’t trip on your loose thoughts 
there are already rocks on the road 
keep your wits about you when you walk

Keep your courage close, tired traveller 
hold your nerve steady, point your path north 
avoid stepping on fragile ground 
unsteadiness won’t serve you well

Keep your feet, my friend 
I’m cheering you on as you go – 
there are no shortcuts to progress  
just keep putting your feet on the ground
