By Charles Robert Lindholm and Bree Leto
I look into your eyes
and I see the flames
of passion burning
I know what
you are yearning for
You want to light my fire
You think this attraction between us
is my heart’s desire
But eventually
love would make a liar
out of us both
We could have
a crazy love affair
with a beautiful start
but it wouldn’t go anywhere
it wouldn’t last –
there is no forever in our future
We’ll only hurt each other
along the way
So why delay the inevitable
of a doomed romance
when it’s so plain to see,
I’m not good for you
and you’re not good for me
I know you are trying
to seduce me,
tempt me to surrender,
but I’ve seen how this story ends
we won’t even remain as friends
So, let’s not start down this road
to heartache
’cause I’ve been there before

brilliant collab, brilliant ending with beautifully phrased emotional takeaways – let’s not start down that road, again…. 🙂

Thank you VB, really glad to hear! When it comes to the heart and relationships, sometimes we only learn from experience.

That is a page right out of my life. You captured all the emotion and desire your body is craving. Yet your mind makes that stand to keep a friend. Nice work.

Thanks Gary, exactly… Sometimes people should just remain friends. I’m relieved to know Chuck and I did the situation justice.

Haha, that is totally fine about not commenting on people’s work. I know many people prefer to engage in silence 😊Thanks for your lovely comment though, thank you for telling me you felt a connection to these words 💜
