These shades of sadness won’t last all year
they’ll shift and change with the atmosphere
Keep moving forward while you feel downcast
tomorrow may reveal a different forecast
The haze closing in may seem severe
but history has taught: the sun will reappear
Don’t be shackled by darkness, push past
grit your teeth and remain steadfast
The shades you see, they will not last
because nothing is permanent and the world is vast
